Mesa is one of the suburbs of Phoenix in Maricopa County. The community is 20 miles east of Phoenix, and is located in the East Valley region of the metropolitan area.  A portion of the Sonoran Desert is in the northeast corner of Mesa. This area is called Desert Arroyo Park.
